It's not too late to find your Christmas color palette!

The leaves might still be falling but Christmas is right around the corner and soon those piles of leaves will be piles of snow! Whether you prefer rustic or elegant- go for the gold!

The sweet deer give this tablescape some interest and whimsy!

You can make the pine cones a little more glam by spray painting them gold or gluing on some gold glitter.

Hanging a wreath from a mirror is so simple and elegant. Lovely.

More is better in this romantic table setting.

Use this as a sample color board and go gaga-gold!

A no fail color scheme: Peacock!

The vibrant plumage of the peacock is a no fail color scheme with so much possibility! Peacock blue is like the regal, funky cousin of navy and works well with so many other colors. Some of the many colors that you can combine include apricot, orange, pink, red, yellow, lime, and teal. Use some of these photos as inspiration! Whether your style is traditional or contemporary, these jewel tones are a hit.

Fall color trends

Autumn is approaching and it's a great time to start incorporating some of this years fall color trends into your home. Nate Berkus recommends 5 this year which include navy black, jade, rust, asparagus, and bronze. We like! The great thing about these colors is that they are neutral enough to work with pretty much any color scheme, all you need are a few accent pieces! Here are a few examples:

Navy black!

Asparagus!

Bronze!

If you want to go even BIGGER try an asparagus wall or a bronze ceiling!

Repurposing Old Picture Frames.

Repurposing picture frames is something we absolutely love! Thrift stores, resale shops, and flea markets are great places to find unique frames of all shapes and sizes. There are a lot of ways you can take old picture frames and make them new again. Here are some ideas to make a statement, whether you have one frame or several.

With just one frame you can make a tray that you can customize to fit any decor. You can use a fabric that you have used elsewhere in the room, bring in a whole new pattern, or even just go with a vibrant color. The best part is that the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. You can paint the frame, add handles, whatever!

If you have several frames you can use them to create more of an architectural statement or you can use the frames as an independent work of art! In order to create an architectural statement simply paint the frames the same or a similar color as the wall and arrange in a way that is pleasing to your eye. If you have enough, you can be bold and make a whole accent wall of frames! If you prefer to go the "work of art" route just paint the frames a contrasting or complimentary color to the wall color and arrange them in a cluster. This is a perfect way to add texture and interest to your room.

Do not feel limited by these general guidelines. Have fun with it! Feel free to lean frames to stagger them, hang frames from the ceiling away from the wall to create depth, there are no rules!

Till next time!

Making your house a home.

We all know that furniture and home decor can make your home more inviting to your family and guests but have you thought about how scent may effect the general attitude in your home? Research suggests that the sense of smell is the strongest memory trigger. Have you ever noticed how the smell of cookies baking can remind you of your childhood or how the smell of cotton candy can take you back to the fair? The Exchange has an easy alternative to baking or going to the fair and they are called Circle E Candles! Whether you are trying to sell a home or just want to change things up a bit in your current home, we've got a scent for you. Some great scents for spring include butterfly kisses, pomegranate, and fresh apple. Yuuuuuuum! Come in and have a whiff of these amazing candles! THE candle for people who know candles.
